Alex Shortt is an accomplished R&D Strategy Manager at Epson Canada, where he leads the business and product strategy for the company’s North American Research and Development division. He has over ten years’ experience in engineering and five years of experience in entrepreneurship, and team management, with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from McMaster University and Politecnico di Torino.
Previously, he co-founded and served as the CTO of Longan Vision, a pioneering company that developed augmented reality systems for firefighting. He successfully led the engineering team, secured $2.5 million in funding from the Department of Defense Research Canada, and obtained a patent for the innovative device. Alex is passionate about creating cutting-edge solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and performance in various industries.
