Tenomix, an Ontario-based medical technology company creating innovative solutions in pathology and a client at The Forge, has won the Best Financial Model award at Western Angels’ Demo Day: Amplify pitch competition. Amplify is the first qualifying round for Western Angels’ Demo Day, where the top 19 ventures were selected to pitch. Tenomix and four other ventures have qualified for the final round of the event series, receiving a chance to pitch their investment asks to a panel of investors on December 3, 2021.
Western Angels’ Demo Day will focus on real-world investments and support founders seeking seed funding / first round of investment. During Demo Day, startups are encouraged to curate their investment asks based on their needs. Last year, Western founders secured over $4 million in private investments, with asks ranging from $50,000 to $6 Million.
During Amplify, Tenomix pitched their cutting-edge automated benchtop solution, Lymphonator, that scans surgically removed cancer tissues and automatically determines the location of all lymph nodes. Tenomix explained how the Lymphonator could significantly reduce pathology and hospital costs, provide confidence to pathology staff that all lymph nodes have been collected, and more importantly allow patients to receive more accurate cancer staging.
