Congratulations to our alumnus NanoPhyll for receiving from Écotech Québec a “Eureka! Green and Prosperous Quebec Award”. Ecotech Québec evaluated pioneering companies who have adopted clean technologies and organizations that have found innovative solutions for their challenges, while improving their competitiveness and environmental performance. Nine companies were selected, including Nanophyll’s innovative nanocomposite coating technology. The permanent coating technology was used on Manac Inc., who applied it to their trailers to prevent the formation of dirt and ice and protect the trailer against mud, graffiti, other contaminants, wear and corrosion.
Manac experienced the following benefits from using Nanophyll’s nanocomposite coating technology:
- Increased productivity and reduced maintenance costs by up to 40% (cleaning time, less material costs, etc.)
- Reduced downtime and cleaning cycles by up to 25% thanks to better maintenance
- Increased energy efficiency and reduced GHG emissions (no ice formation on trailers, which influences their weight and fuel consumption)
- Increased efficiency in water use and reduced use of contaminants (reduced wash frequency of trailers reduces water consumption and avoids the use of corrosive cleaners)
