Dom Cocco

Dom Cocco (BCom 1983) spent 38 years in public accounting, 5 years with a predecessor of KPMG, then 33 years at BDO Canada, as a trusted advisor to business owners & managers, specializing in international tax, particularly Canada-U.S., Canada-UK, Canada-Australia & Canada-Europe cross-border tax planning, along with expatriate taxation.

His client base included medium- to large-sized Canadian private companies, mid-sized Canadian public companies, foreign-owned multinational companies & private equity funds.

Dom advised on both inbound & outbound investment and taxation – that is, foreign nationals investing/selling into Canada and Canadians investing/selling abroad. He has presented case studies on e-commerce vendors facing international tax issues, written articles, and presented on various international tax and supply chain topics. Dom retired in 2021 and is keen to engage as a volunteer with McMaster.
