ImaginAble Solutions receives top prizes in pitch competitions

Lianna Genovese, the CEO and founder of Imaginable Solutions impressed a panel of judges and audience members with her pitch and innovative business idea in the 2020 BioTEC Pitch Competition and in the Toronto Finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards. In the competitions, Genovese pitched Guided HandsTM, an assistive device designed to help people experiencing limited hand mobility in writing, painting, drawing, and using a tablet/computer. On December 6, ImaginAble Solutions Inc. won two top prizes from the 2020 BioTEC Pitch Competition hosted by the University of Waterloo. The pitch competition was held on November 21 and featured early-stage student-run ventures in the areas of medical devices, therapeutics, and health-related technologies in their annual virtual pitch competition. Imaginable Solutions is a health technology startup taking part in The Forge Business Incubator program, which specializes in creating assistive devices for people living with accessibility issues. Genovese took home the $1,500 second-place prize sponsored by Concept by Velocity, in addition to the $500 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Biomedical Zone.

On November 26th, ImaginAble Solutions took second place in the Toronto Finals of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards hosted by Entrepreneurs’ Organization winning $500 cash and $9,000 in financial, branding, and marketing services. Lianna will represent her company at the Canadian National Finals on January 20-21 for a chance to win $30,000 and advancement to the Global Finals.
