Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, Mayor of the City of Hamilton Fred Eisenberger, McMaster University President Patrick Deane, MPP for Burlington Eleanor McMahon, Innovation Factory’s David Carter and MIP President Zach Douglas take a tour of The Forge
It’s simple – it’s the third largest city in Ontario and the ninth largest in Canada. It’s one of Canada’s ‘Cities of the Future’, ranked as one of the world’s Smart21 cities, and dubbed as ‘Canada’s Brooklyn’. Hamilton has ascended beyond its steel city reputation and transformed into a diversified economy that embraces entrepeneurial ambition and growth.
We’re not the only show in town. In fact, Hamilton has a thriving community of innovative organizations who are dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and making the city the place to be for innovators and entrepreneurs. At The Forge, we spend a lot of time working alongside:
Innovation Factory is Hamilton’s not-for-profit Regional Innovation Centre. Its mission is to ignite innovation by helping entrepreneurs bring ideas to market, coaching Small/Medium Enterprises to the next level, and building a dynamic community of innovation in Hamilton.

Operating as an arm of the Economic Development Division of the City of Hamilton, the Centre is a one-stop source for business information, guidance and professional advice on starting and running a successful business – for both startup and growing businesses.
The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce
