Interested in entrepreneurship, but don’t know where to start? The Forge@Mac is here to help! We host a ton of speakers, workshops, and competitions on McMaster University campus to help inspire and prepare students for the startup life. Fall 2017, we are hosting the Forge@Mac Startup Problem Pitch Competition, where aspiring entrepreneurs can win their share of $5,000. This is an excellent place to start if you have your eye on a piece of the $100,000 prize at the 2018 Forge@Mac Student Startup Competition!
Do you think that you and your team has what it takes to start your company?
The Forge accepts applications year-round, 365 days a year. We are constantly on the hunt for high potential entrepreneurs who have a great problem to solve.
The Forge focuses on incubating early-stage and will consider your application so long as you have a validated problem and a capable team.
Why join our community of over 40 ambitious, cutting edge startup companies?
At The Forge, we used tried and tested startup company building methodologies like those described in Eric Ries’ “The Lean Startup” and in Jake Knapp’s “Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days”. We live and breathe the mentality: test first, build second.
If you are accepted, Forge business advisers will guide you through these methodologies to help you validate your business model and find product-market fit as quickly as possible (no longer than 6 months). If product-market fit is found, we then surround you with our best mentors to help you build and bring your product to market, establish traction, and raise your first investment.
What’s the application process?
Complete the online application form using the link below. Expect to hear from us within a week to setup a short 30 min phone or meeting at The Forge (MIP office).
If your application is deemed appropriate, we will schedule a panel interview composed of Forge business advisers and mentors to assess if you have what it takes to join our program.
